Resins
Resins to print fine detailed miniatures or wax jewelry designs. The material used in LFS (Low Force Stereolithography) resin printing.
The 3D printing resin we utilize are a polymer that changes its properties when exposed to ultraviolet light. In our 3D resin printers this is archived with an ultraviolet laser that emits electromagnetic radiation within the ultraviolet spectral region, which is defined as being between 200 nm and 389 nm.
This process structurally changes the 3D printing resin in the form of hardening of the material where the ultraviolet laser light exposed the liquid resin.
The 3D printing resins in its liquid form (before printing) are toxic and dangerous to handle. You do not want to inhale or touch it with your bare skin, or get it into your eyes. Any contact with it is potentially carcinogen in their liquid form. After print, when it was washed, then completely dried and cured, then the polymerization post-process has fully harden the resin.

Fully cured resin is safe to touch. However even cured resin is not food safe, or safe for prolonged contact such as jewelry or as wearables. The surfaces of cured resin prints is microscopically uneven, which provides an opportunity for bacteria, mold, and other harmful pathogens to enter and thrive. And post-cured resin materials may still contain microscopic toxic substances that can leach into food or beverages, posing health risks if ingested. Therefore, it is also crucial to refrain from using 3D printed resin objects for food and drink contact.
A fully cured resin print is still mildly hazardous for normal handling, therefore do not give any resin printed object to a small child who still puts things in their mouths, or still sucks their thumb after handling their toys.
Popular applications are D&D miniatures or any other type of art sculptures. But resin can be tricky to paint, and quite different from painting on canvas or wood, as you will find that the paint doesn’t cling to resin very well. Sanding is not necessarily, but the use of a primer is essential, especially one that is not going to react with the resin, and adhere without coming off. Synthetic brushes are the way to go, and for adding small details to your resin piece, you may want to use paintbrushes with very fine tips. |
A typical resin print experiences an unnoticeable volume-shrinkage during the curing process. This gives resin exceptional precision and stable performance.
The 3D printing resin is ideal for printing many small intricate designs, for example our wax resin is popular for jewelry pieces, that have highly intricate designs. These wax resin printed jewelry pieces are being used in lost-wax casting. |
It is an investment casting process by which a duplicate sculpture (made of silver, gold, brass, or bronze) is created from the original wax sculpture. It is one of the oldest known technique, which still today is used to achieve intricate works of art.
Experience for yourself the outstanding print quality, enhanced accuracy, and reliable stability with low-shrinkage.
